*You may clean out your child's campus binder at the end of this week. Please leave Belling the Cat and The Crow and the Peacocks rough drafts in the composition section as we will be adding creative titles to them next week.

Math:

Mental math (MM) can be found toward the back of the Home Instructor Guide. You should spend no longer than 10 minutes on MM; students do not need to complete the entire exercise.

Grammar:

A copy of chapter 3 test can be found in your child's campus binder. Skip exercises 2 and 8. You will not be doing any Shurley vocabulary at home for the remainder of the year as we will be focusing on IEW vocabulary.

Composition:

Please place The Crow and the Peacocks rough draft in your students campus binder in the composition section. We will be adding a title to it next week. Reminder: each vocabulary word from the current lesson that is used in the rough draft is worth 1 extra credit point each (3 points possible).

Continue to practice proper formation of cursive letters at home. Writing on notebook paper, rather than handwriting paper is new for some students this year. Please help your student with this transition.

Reading:

Students should read a classical book for 30 minutes a day and plan to finish at the end of next week. Our next book will be Squanto. Please ask your child to orally narrate a summary of what they read and engage in discussion with them.

Memory:

Please spend time during your school day to work on our school wide scripture, quarter 1 poem, geography map & song, history timeline song, and Atoms & Molecules poem. Feel free to get creative and practice these in the car, at bedtime, or during meals.
