Review phonograms.
This week, we'll review phonograms and syllable division rules from previous levels.

Reading:
We will be reading Magician’s Nephew the first semester.  Please bring this book to school every day.  On Friday and Monday we will be reading a classical book.  We are starting the year with "The Hundred Dresses".  The students will complete a book review on this book.  The book review will be in the black reading journal.  This is due Aug 23.

Science:
Please bring the science journal to school on Wednesday only.  We will be working in the journal at school also.

Geography:

Memory:
Please spend 15 minutes per day working on the following memory work.
Poetry:  Our first quarter poem is "Rise Up O Men of God".  A copy is in your student's binder under the memory section.  Practice this with a family member, pet, or stuffed animal as an audience.  If you really want a challenge, try using yourself as an audience in a mirror!
