Math:
We are starting 3B. In the 3B book there is not a lot of review of the concepts learned in the first semester. We will be having review days to continue practicing the concepts learned already this year.
Bar models will count as a point on practices and test. We will still be reviewing bar models in class to keep practicing and help with any questions.

Grammar:
We are continuing helping verbs this week. This week during lesson 3 we will go over irregular verbs. Sometimes this can be a difficult concepts. If you think that it may be you can introduce this concept earlier to have more practice.
Composition:
We are starting a three week unit on the topic will be on animals! We will combine the three papers at the end of the unit with an opening paragraph that introduces the main idea of the paper. Then we will add each paper to the introductory paragraph. Please hold onto each paper so that they are available for the final paper.

We started The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe on Monday and are really enjoying it!
We will continue reading "A Cricket in Time Square" this week. The project for this book is a diorama. Your student will construct a diorama of one of the main events of this book. They will make a 3-dimensional scene, including models of characters, the setting, and objects. A shoebox makes a great place to build a diorama. Then they will write a description of the scene. Project is due Feb 12, 2020.
